Education as a pillar of integration in Latin America

Education is one of the issues that is gaining momentum in the existing integration schemes in Latin America. In recent decades, the educational aspect has been specifically addressed as a primary objective, to such an extent that it has become one of its fundamental aspects. Over the last two decades, new integration schemes have been created in response to the various political strategies in force. In this context, the purpose of this essay was to theorize on the importance of education in integrationist processes and, at the same time, to visualize the progress and limitations in Latin American countries. The research was based on the theoretical contributions of the main integrationist thinkers in the region. A descriptive-analytical analysis methodology and bibliographic review were applied. As a conclusion, it is necessary to make proposals that translate into contributions that must be consolidated in the field of education to make integration a living and concrete phenomenon that facilitates the union of peoples.
