Digital Preservation and Self-Archiving Policy of Multiverso Journal
The Multiverso Journal is committed to safeguarding its published content in the long term, ensuring that both researchers and the general public can access our valuable academic production at any time and permanently.
To guarantee the preservation and restoration of our articles in the event of any unforeseen circumstances, the journal employs a multifaceted digital preservation strategy. Our policy is based on the automatic deposition of content in globally leading archiving systems and the implementation of data protection technologies.
Long-Term Preservation Services
To fulfill these objectives, Multiverso Journal actively deposits its content into the following systems:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A decentralized preservation system that creates a permanent and secure archive of the journal. It allows participating libraries to preserve the content by regularly collecting and archiving the published material.

CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A system based on LOCKSS technology that also ensures a permanent and secure archive for our journal.

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): As a journal supported by the OJS platform, Multiverso Journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network. This network uses advanced LOCKSS technology to preserve the content of our articles in the long term.
Identifiers and Backup
Additionally, to strengthen our preservation policy, we use:
-
DOI (Digital Object Identifier): Each published article receives a unique and persistent DOI identifier. This ensures that the content is locatable and citable in the long term, even if the server location changes.
-
Backups: We complement our preservation efforts with a rigorous maintenance plan that includes daily backups of our OJS platform, files, issues, and articles. These backups are stored on secure servers and external hard drives (NAS), ensuring the integrity and continuous availability of our content.
Through this policy, Multiverso Journal reaffirms its commitment to open access and transparency, ensuring that the knowledge we share remains accessible and relevant to future generations.
AUTHOR SELF-ARCHIVING POLICY (GREEN OPEN ACCESS)
Multiverso Journal supports the practice of author self-archiving as part of its commitment to open access. We recognize that this practice helps to enhance the visibility and impact of research.
Therefore, the journal allows authors to deposit the following versions of their manuscript in institutional, subject-based, or other types of repositories, without restrictions or embargo periods:
-
Submitted version (Pre-print): The initial version of the manuscript submitted to the journal.
-
Accepted version (Author’s Accepted Manuscript): The version of the article that has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, prior to final editing and typesetting by the journal.
-
Published version (Version of Record): The final, formatted, and published version available on the journal’s website.
We encourage authors to cite the final published version of their article, including the DOI, when applicable, to ensure traceability and proper attribution.
Through this comprehensive policy, Multiverso Journal reaffirms its commitment to open access, transparency, and the preservation of shared knowledge, ensuring it remains accessible and relevant for future generations.
