This editorial has a dual purpose: on the one hand, it presents the opinion of our editorial team on the possible contributions of research in the social and human sciences to contribute to the fight against social inequality; on the other hand, it presents the contents of volume 04, number 06, of the January-June 2024 edition of Multiverse Journal. In general terms, it is concluded that the social and human sciences have much to contribute in theoretical and methodological terms to overcome the phenomenon of inequality in the 21st century; in this sense, their contributions are expressed in particular fields, such as: the identification of the causes of inequality; ethical positioning in favor of vulnerable social groups; development of public policies and social intervention strategies to overcome poverty; design of plans for rational redistribution of resources, improvement of education and creation of employment opportunities, within the framework of what sustainable development means; evaluation of public policies and social action programs and, likewise, the examination of the social groups most vulnerable to inequality to provide valid recommendations for improving their lives.
