Gender-based violence is a worrying phenomenon that affects millions of women in Latin America and the Caribbean, taking different forms, discourses, practices, and experiences, ranging from physical to psychological and sexual violence. This problem is not only the result of women's limited influence in a patriarchal society but is also intrinsically linked to social and cultural structures that maintain significant inequality between men and women in the exercise of power. For these reasons, using a documentary methodology, the objective of this research was to develop some reflective contributions to the study of gender-based violence and access to justice in the Inter-American System. All of this leads to the conclusion that, ultimately, the growing leadership of women in different social spheres represents an encouraging sign toward a more just and inclusive future. In any conceivable scenario, overcoming patriarchy is crucial to ensuring that all women's voices are recognized and valued.
